The final step in becoming a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) is to take a multiple-choice assessment exam administered by the Scrum Alliance. Although you will be informed of the percentage of questions you answered properly, the exam is intended to serve solely as a tool for assessing your understanding of Scrum. You cannot "fail" the assessment as you could a university course. Instead, the assessment will help you determine how well you understand Scrum and help you identify any knowledge gaps you may have.
The exam includes 13 terminology questions, 15 practices questions, and 7 principles questions. A certain number of questions are chosen at random from each category to make approximately 25 total questions, so each student will see a slightly different set of questions.
You will have 90 days from the date of your Certified ScrumMaster course to complete this online assessment. The Scrum Alliance will email instructions after completion of the course.
