Writing this book was very frustrating. A couple of weeks before the book was to be published, Sun announced a complete change to the Java event model. This made almost every example in the book instantly out of date. I pushed the publisher to hold off so we can correct the examples. They refused and by the time the book was on the shelves it was already out of date. This bad experience led me to stay away from book writing for six years because I was so frustrated.
