About Our Classes
Certified ScrumMaster
This two day course teaches the fundamental principles and practices of Scrum. In the ScrumMaster class, you will learn and experience how such a seemingly simple process as Scrum can profoundly improve how we develop software. You will gain hands-on experience with Scrum tools and activities such as the product backlog, sprint backlog, daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning meeting, and burndown charts. You’ll learn how to use Scrum on projects of all sizes of projects, from a single collocated team to a large, highly distributed team. Upon completion of this course, you will be recognized by the Scrum Alliance as a Certified ScrumMaster.
Agile Estimating and Planning
Early myths around agile software development teams were “we’re agile, we don’t plan” and “it will be done when it’s done.” These were clearly inadequate answers for any business that needed to work with deadlines or meet objectives. This one-day agile training class corrects these myths by presenting estimating and planning processes ideally suited for agile software development.
Certified Scrum Product Owner®
Certified Scrum Product Owner® training teaches product owners how to be successful in this new role. You learn how use the product backlog as a tool for success. Not only will you learn how Scrum teams work and the critical mindset shifts necessary for agile teams to succeed, you will also gain practical experience writing user stories for your product backlog, prioritizing the product backlog, and then planning both fixed-scope and fixed-date releases. After completing this class you will be acknowledged as a Certified Scrum Product Owner® by the Scrum Alliance.
Effective User Stories for Agile Requirements
User stories are one of the most widely applicable techniques to come out of the agile processes. They are also one of the most effective and have gained tremendous popularity as the ideal way of writing a product backlog, which is a lightweight form of an agile requirements document. In this class, you learn what makes a good user story, how to gather them in story-writing workshops, how to write user stories for difficult requirements, including non-functional requirements. You will leave this highly hands-on agile training class with all the knowledge and experience necessary to write user stories for your projects.
