Make Confident Product Decisions — Not Just Better Backlogs

Frequently Asked Questions
Who should attend?
This course is for experienced product owners who already understand Scrum and backlog fundamentals and want to improve their impact as product decision-makers. Participants should hold a Scrum Alliance CSPO certification before they can receive the A-CSPO credential.
What experience is required for A-CSPO certification?
Scrum Alliance requires at least 12 months of product owner work experience within the past five years. You may complete that experience before or after the course, but it must be validated in your Scrum Alliance account before the credential is issued.
Does my CSPO need to be active?
No. Scrum Alliance currently accepts an active or expired CSPO as the prerequisite credential. The prerequisite must be from the product owner track; a CSM does not substitute for it.
How is this different from Certified Scrum Product Owner?
Certified Scrum Product Owner establishes the foundations of the Product Owner accountability, customers and users, prioritization, and Product Backlog management. A-CSPO assumes that foundation and focuses on advanced judgment, stakeholder leadership, evidence, outcomes, and difficult tradeoffs.
Can this course be customized?
Examples, discussion, and exercises can connect to your organization’s products and challenges. Because this is a certification course, it must still satisfy Scrum Alliance A-CSPO learning objectives and education requirements.
Do we sell individual seats?
No. Mountain Goat Software focuses on private training for organizations. We can discuss a private A-CSPO course for your company.
